It would be a privilege for Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh to become your chosen venue for your wedding day whilst you and your guests enjoy the surroundings of our unique living collection.
Centrally located in Edinburgh, our garden gives you the choice to be married in one of our indoor venues or outside – under the tree canopy of the giant Redwoods in the John Muir Grove.
Our venues, which are wheelchair accessible and suitable for Civil or Humanist ceremonies have stunning natural backdrops to the garden and can accommodate from 10 – 200 guests. Afterwards we can then offer Drinks & Canapes Receptions, Luxury Afternoon Tea, or a more formal seated Lunch or Dinner and Evening Receptions.
We offer weddings all year round throughout the changing seasons of the year, with each one offering a different ambiance in the garden to cherish and remember.
John Muir Grove
120 guests for wedding ceremony (with seating for 40)
Chinese Pavilion
Maximum capacity of 30 guests for a civil or humanist ceremony where all guests are standing. This is a lovely pairing with the David Douglas Room for a drinks reception, Afternoon Tea or Lunch afterwards.
Caledonian Hall
100 guests for a Marriage Ceremony which can be followed by a Drinks & Canapes Reception, Afternoon Tea or a formal seated Lunch or Dinner and Evening Reception
120 guests for evening reception
David Douglas Room
32 guests for a Marriage Ceremony which can be followed with a Drinks & Canapes Reception, Afternoon Tea or a formal seated Lunch or Dinner for up to 32 guests inclusive.
John Hope Gateway
200 guests for formal seated dinner & dancing or Evening Reception only.
The Terrace
Located in the heart of the Garden, The Terrace is a bright and airy venue with a garden feel which is available for after-hours evening ceremonies, drinks receptions and informal dining with a capacity of up to 80 guests. This area also has an outdoor patio with tables and parasols.
