Penicuik House is our flagship wedding venue, a grand property that sits at the heart of 3,100 hectares of Designed Landscape. Eclectic, quirky and full of authentic character, Penicuik House provides flexible indoor and outdoor spaces, including beautiful gardens, with dining for up to 48 guests and luxurious accommodation for 32. Our lovingly restored iconic houses, cottages and lodges offer additional retreats for a further 16 guests, bringing the total sleeping capacity to 48. Penicuik House along with our houses, cottages and lodges are available on a min 2-night stay.
Nestled in the Sunken Garden beside Penicuik House, The Orangery is a modern haven of glass, greenery, and light. By day, it feels bright and open, filled with reflections of sky and meadow, offering a light-filled sanctuary for ceremonies year-round. By night, it glows softly against the trees, alive with music and candlelight.
The Orangery seats up to 150 guests for dinner and dancing or accommodates 200 for dinner alone, flowing seamlessly between the house, garden, and evening under the stars.
For larger weddings, you can combine the use of Penicuik House with tipis and sperry tents at the High Pond Reserve, our ultimate nature-based venue. Immersed in ancient woodlands, with sweeping and stunning views, this romantic waterside setting is perfect for celebrations of up to 250 guests.
